I have always had an artistic flair, but did not attend any formal art classes until I discovered the UNC Botanical Art & Illustration program in 2014. Because I love interacting with plants & nature, I decided to explore an avenue that would teach me how to draw & use various mediums to create art.  It was very challenging, but I proudly graduated from the certificate program in 2019.

 

Wanting to expand beyond botanical art, I joined the NC Guild of Natural Science Illustrators to learn how to apply my new skills to different subject matters & artistic styles.  A recent workshop on beetles & butterflies has made me realize how intricate & colorful insects are.  I look forward to many future learning opportunities on this amazing journey.
